This recipe is foolproof.
It doesn't matter how much ketchup to brown sugar, the order you put it in or
if you use garlic powder. The main thing is to use all ingredients listed.
This freezes well and can be prepared weeks in advance.
Ingredients
31/2 lb minute roast
2 medium
onions
1 cup
ketchup
3/4 cup brown sugar
8 tbsp onion
soup mix
8 cloves
garlic
Directions
Place a sheet
of heavy duty aluminum foil in a 9x13 baking pan, or use a roasting
pan.
Slice onions,
layer half in the pan along with ½ cup ketchup, half of the brown sugar,
4 tbsp of onion soup mix and 4 sliced cloves of garlic.
Place 3-4
pounds of minute roast on top. Place remaining ingredients on top of
roast.
Cover tightly
with additional aluminum foil. Bake at 350° F. for 3 ½
hours.
Refrigerate
until cooled.
When cooled
remove meat from sauce. Slice and place in a new pan. Strain sauce over
meat. Warm and serve.
